Show us a transformation.
I... have no idea why this Vox Hunt is titled "Robots in the Sky". But here's a transformation for you, anyway... two snapshots taken during a magazine shoot for July's edition of Easy Living magazine. The actual shots for the magazine will be with much softer lighting, but you will probably get the idea -- we were going for old school Hollywood glamour. I felt like Joan Crawford or Barbara Stanwyck.

Show us a self-taken picture of the sunset.

On Christmas Day, when I was still living near the beach in Southsea, I was putting my rubbish in the bins outside my flat late afternoon, and I noticed that the sky was a delicate shade of orangey-pink and promised a great sunset. I grabbed my coat and my camera and hot-footed it down to the beach. This was my reward, and it turned a pleasant Christmas Day into something very memorable.
Show us a musical genius.
I'm going to show you two. Come on, did you really think I'd choose anyone but Joni Mitchell and Neil Young? Actually, the Joni's a twofer, because the Band are on there too (it's a clip from The Last Waltz). The Neil clip is from a brilliant BBC concert that I have on a poor-quality video. I love all the business with his harmonica at the start.
Show us your guilty pleasure.
I've always loved this album. We bought the LP for my dad when it first came out, and my sister recorded it on a cassette (remember those?). When she went to university she left her "music centre" behind in our shared bedroom (music centres were those early stereo systems with a turntable, radio and cassette player all in one large box that took up a lot of shelf space). She also left this cassette, so I played it a lot while doing my homework when I was fifteen and sixteen. It always felt like a guilty pleasure because it was such an uncool album. But I love Barbra, and I love Barry Gibb, and I love singing "Guilty" and "Woman In Love" into a hairbrush. So eventually I bought my own copy, this time on CD.
Show us a TV show you never miss.
Well, there's this, which I loved as much as always:
But to honest, this has been the year of one show for me, thanks to Living TV repeating "Cycles" 1-6 over the last few months, so there was an episode every day. Plus, Cycle 8 was shown on a weekly basis. I'd never watched the show before, and now I'm hooked. All together now, "Tyra Mail!!!!!!!"
Show us how you're spending the day after Thanksgiving.
I had a row with my mobile phone provider T-Mobile over the cost of upgrading to a Nokia N95 - turns out it costs a lot more for an existing customer than it would for a new customer. I asked the girl behind the counter what she would do in those circumstances, and then followed her advice: I cancelled my contract, got my PAC number to transfer my number, and walked across the mall to O2 and bought an iPhone. The iPhone cost more than it would have cost to upgrade to the N95, and it has less functionality - no SatNav and the camera isn't as good. Plus, the monthly contract fee is marginally higher than I was paying. But you know what? I don't care. It's slim and beautiful and I love it. Plus, I thought it was so funny that T-Mobile's own staff suggested I should cancel my contract because their upgrade costs were so shit.
Anyway, this afternoon I shall have fun trying to sort out my iPhone. I went on-line to check it yesterday (I did think I might end up buying one) and it all looks very user-friendly. Y'all know what an iPhone looks like, so here's a picture of a knitted one:
Video: Show us an impressive athletic feat.
Final pas de deux from a ballet by William Forsythe called In the Middle Somewhat Elevated. I hadn't watched this in a while, and then found it on YouTube last night. I figured it sort of fitted yesterday's Vox Hunt...
Audio/Video: Share a great use of a song in a commercial.
Black Keys - "Girl Is On My Mind". One of those great times when you're watching the ads, and you suddenly hear one of your favourite songs.
Video: Show us some great dancing.
Gene Kelly in It's Always Fair Weather. I saw this on TV when I was a kid. My dad was very good at finding good films to watch on television on Sunday afternoons, and over Sunday lunch he would tell us all about them - a bit about the plot and who the stars were - and make us excited to watch the movie. There would usually be a bar of Cadbury's chocolate (Old Jamaica or Fruit & Nut) to share as well. This one really sticks in my mind. Gene Kelly was my first film heart-throb.
Sorry about the French subtitles!
